Phil Hellmuth is scheduled to host the Third Annual Charity Poker Tournament on December 1st to benefit the TASER Foundation for fallen officers. The event will be held at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and will feature two poker tournaments.This year's charity event is being dubbed "Beauty and the Bet.

The National Deaf Poker Tour (NDPT) has been drumming up quite the following on the poker tournament circuit. Their second year of hosting tournaments was wrapped up with the final event of 2007 in Atlantic City on November 10th and 11th.

For the second year in a row, Padraig Parkinson' s Simon Poker Tournament was held for the Simon Dublin homeless charity, and it was a huge success. On Saturday, November 3rd, 162 players attended Simon Poker Day, an event that coincided with the European Poker Tour (EPT) Dublin series of tournaments.

For the third year in a row, Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil hosted a very successful Off the Strip Poker Tournament to benefit the Skylar Neil Memorial Fund and the T.J. Martell Foundation. Approximately $175,000 was said to have been raised on November 3rd for the charities as a result of the festivities that included a poker tournament and live auction.

The Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza is coming back for the third time. The deep stack tournaments have been very popular in the past, sometimes drawing in 500 people for one event! Starting February 4th, 2008 the third installment of The Deep Stack Extravaganza will begin.

For the second year in a row, Brad "Yukon" Booth will be hosting the All-In for Arthritis Charity Classic. The series of tournaments will begin on October 29th with the main event taking place November 2 - 4, 2007 at the River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton, Alberta. Proceeds will benefit The Arthritis Society (TAS) chapters in British Columbia and Alberta.

Day 1 of the PokerNews Cup main event ended with approximately 119 players after 428 entrants took a seat and tried to handle chip control. It's not always easy, chip control that is.

The first Caesars Poker Classic was a series of events that attracted some of the biggest names on the poker tournament circuit today. Out of the thirteen events played, the $10,000 buy-in main event attracted 287 participants for a $1 million guaranteed top prize. David Singer fought a long battle and eventually won first place.
