Europe's longest running and most lucrative poker tournament got underway, September 18th, with the celebrity heat of The Ladbrokes Poker Million VI. The event is being broadcast on Sky Sports 2 and will run 13 weeks, with players competing in a weekly "heat". The final will be shown live on December 21st, 2007.

Vince Neil, lead singer of Motley Crue and recreational poker player, will be hosting his Third Annual Off the Strip Poker Tournament on November 3rd, 2007. It will benefit the Skylar Neil Memorial Fund and the T.J. Martell Foundation.Last year, more than 140 entrants came to the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas to participate in the charity tournament.

For the second year in a row, Padraig Parkinson's annual Simon Poker Tournament will be held in conjunction with the European Poker Tour Dublin events in November 2007. The tournament is held to benefit the Simon Dublin homeless charity and will take place on November 3rd.Last year's event was quite successful in raising awareness and approximately €50,000.

On September 15, Commerce Casino held its Ladies No-Limit Hold'em tournament as part of the annual California State Poker Championship series. It was a $300 + $35 event hosted by LIPS (Ladies International Poker Series ). All other tournaments in the series were coed events with various buy-in amounts.
