Joe Tehan's recent form held true, masterfully changing speeds through the evening to win the WPT 2006 Mandalay Bay Poker Championship - to the tune of $1,033,440. Tehan was at or near the chip lead through the 113 hands of the final table, outlasting a remarkable run by runner-up Burt Boutin - who took home $604,765 for his efforts.

After eight hours of play, 18 players remain in contention for the million dollar first prize at the WPT Mandalay Bay Poker Championship. The top two chip leaders from Day Two remained in the top five, with Joe Tehan being the only player holding over a million in chips. Yesterday's chip leader, Brad "Yukon" Booth is solidly in third chip position.

Day two finished with 56 players battling it out for 1st place in the WPT Mandalay Bay Poker Championship. With the top 50 cashing, no player could truly go to sleep this morning with assurance that their two days of effort would be fruitful.

349 players descended on one of the newest locales for poker in Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay, for the first day of the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship WPT event. Poker glitterati was scattered throughout the room. Super Satellite qualifiers, over the weekend, produced 49 more tough contestants The winner of this inaugural event will take home slightly over $1,000,000.

On St. Patrick’s Day, 22-year old Mike Schneider defeated a field of 527 players to become this year’s winner of the Partypoker.com Million V. The Party Poker Million is the poker world’s largest Limit Holdem Championship. It takes place aboard a cruise ship. This year the ship was the MS Osterdam.

This past Saturday, February 25th, for the second year in a row, the World Poker Tour hosted a six-player invitational event, The Bad Boys of Poker. The first - and only - prize was a $25,500 seat into the season finale WPT World Championship, along with a Bad Boys trophy.
