Venetian the New Home of the National Poker League
While the first events of the UK Open are unfolding across the pond, the US arm of the National Poker League announced that they have joined with the Venetian Resort and Casino in Las Vegas to host the 2007 Vegas Open, scheduled for November 24th - 30th and the NPL World Championship Tournament on December 3rd."We are extremely honored and excited to partner with The Venetian as The Venetian Poker Room offers poker players a stylish and comfortable environment for our player-friendly tournament," exclaimed Robert Huxley, vice president of poker operations for NPL. "By making The Venetian the new home of the NPL, we are assured to provide players with a magnificent poker room and a resort that offers the very best Las Vegas has to offer."
The Venetian will also be the broadcast location for all 26 episodes of the NPL television series airing around the US and internationally. The UK Open Event #1 was the first televised NPL event. NPL executives project more than 100 Million viewers worldwide will tune in to the show. The show will be hosted by Las Vegas personality Dave Farra and poker pro Kirk Morrison, and will feature commentary, interviews and a "Play of the Day" segment. High Definition support for the program will be provided by Mojo HD, the premier provider of HD content to major cable networks.

The 2nd annual NPL Vegas Open relocates from its former home at Caesar's Palace to The Venetian beginning Sunday November 25th. The week of No Limit Hold Em tournaments will kick off with a special charity poker party on Saturday November 24th to benefit a local charity as a part of NPL's "Poker Cares" program.
The December 3rd, World Championship Tournament will serve as the culmination of the 2007 NPL global circuit of poker tournaments. Winners from London, Manila, Malbourne and Las Vegas will compete in the $15,000 buy-in tournament.
