Jerry Yang showed aggression quickly at the Final Table and never lost the chip lead after the 9th hand. The devout Christian knocked out seven of the eight players at the Final Table, including Tuan Lam heads-up over thirty-six hands. He takes home $8,250,000 for the victory.

Day 3 was a play in three acts. Act I was Getting to the Bubble, shrinking 797 players to 635. Act II was the Bubble, getting rid of the fourteen players necessary to make the money. Tom Schneider became the first player to win his second WSOP bracelet this year, taking down the $1k Seven Card Stud Eight or Better title. Combined with his Omaha Hi/Lo and Stud Mixed Event title, he is the odds-on favorite to take the WSOP Player of the Year title.
