Greg Raymer 8-Diamonds 8-Spades versus David Williams A-Hearts 4-Spades

A full-house battle unraveled at the WSOP 2004 final table between Greg Raymer and David Williams. The blinds were at $50,000-$100,000.

Raymer was dealt a pair of 8's. Williams held {A-Hearts} and {4-Spades} and bet $300.000. Raymer called.

After the flop showed {4-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {5-Spades}, giving Willians a pair of 4's, Raymer checked. Williams bet $500,000. Greg raised to $1,600,000 and Williams called.

The turn brought the {2-Hearts}, Williams bet $2,500,000 with his two-pair, and Raymer raised another $2,500,000. Williams called.

The river brought the {2-Clubs}, and now both players had full houses, but Raymer with his initial pair of 8's obviously had a better one - deuces full of eights.

Both Raymer and Williams moved all-in. Raymer left the table with the WSOP 2004 Championship and a prize of $5.000.000.
