What is a Poker Bot?

What is a bot? A bot is a program used to play poker in an Internet poker game. It is not used in a cheating scheme. It is simply a program that plays poker.

What are the advantages? A person could have several bots, at different computers, playing in different games on the Internet. The bot is programmed to play a certain way. Hour after hour, as long as the game continues, the bot plays tirelessly on. This can produce a steady monetary gain to the person using bots.

Most online poker sites are banning the use of bots and continually searching for ways to improve their poker software and your playing experience with them. If you feel that you are playing against a bot, report the name of the player and the table name to the online poker sites customer service.
