The Radisson Resort and Casino geared up to accommodate all tournament play for the second year in a row as ‘name brand’ players flooded through the door to try and best Online qualifiers and other entrants that bought into the main event. The ‘name brand’ players were scattered throughout the field on all three ‘day one‘ flights: Phil Ivey, Jennifer Tilley, Erik Seidel, Barry Greenstein, Mike Matusow, Layne Flack, Robert Williamson III, Annie Duke, Phil Laak, Phil Helmuth, Scotty Nguyen, Men Nguyen, Michael Mizrachi, John Phan, Chip and Karina Jett, Kristy Gazes, Clonie Gowan, Marsha Waggoner, and too many more to list. All three past champions were at the tables - Eric Lindgren, Erik Brenes, and Juha Helppi.
The main event - September 26th - is held in three ‘day one’ flights, with the tournament running through eight blind levels each day. On the fourth day - September 29th - the survivors of each flight redraw for seat and table assignments and play continues until eventually there are six players left. Those six players play for the championship in front of the camera - in a World Poker Tour event that will be aired at a later date.
During the main event, continuous satellites are running for $500+$40 NLH and $1,000+$60 NLH tournament events.
