Royal Flush

A Royal Flush is composed of a 10, Jack, Queen, King and an Ace, all of the same suit. It is both a straight (having five cards in sequential rank) and a flush (having five cards of the same suit). It is also known as an ace-high straight flush. It's the poker hand every player dreams about. This magic five card hand is the toughest to get. The odds of making a Royal Flush are 649739:1.

There are only four possible Royal Flush combinations and these include: spades, clubs, diamonds and hearts. A royal flush is actually not a separate type of hand in poker because it is the same as a straight flush, but because it has an ace as the highest card, it is the highest ranking straight flush, and therefore the highest ranking hand in poker. This is the reason why it is called Royal. You probably remember the film "Maverick" with Mel Gibson and the last hand. Three players left and they are all in. Maverick takes one card, but leaves it face-down on the table. The Commodore reveals that he has "2 pairs - 8s... and 8s" (four of a kind). Angel reveals he has a small straight flush. Maverick turns over his first four cards, showing he has a possible Royal Flush. He then 'concentrates' on the last card, flips the card on the table - it's an ace of spades! That's how he won the $500, 000 and now you can win up to $100,000,000 for a single hand..

Qualify to the $100,000,000 Noble Poker tournament. During the Final Table action, if one of the players will hit a Royal Flush of Spades, he or she will win the $100,000,000 Grand Prize! But that's not all…if any player comes close to hitting the Royal Flush, he'll also go home a millionaire!

Participate in any of two Noble Poker Daily Freeroll Qualifiers awarding five seats each at their upcoming $500,000 Online Final Freeroll, which will be staged on Sunday May 21, 2006 at 15:00 EST. The Final Table will be held in a secret location in May, 2006, and it will be at this amazing Final Table that one player will have the chance to win the $100,000,000 Hand.

I have been playing poker for more than five years now, and, luckily, I have seen a Royal Flush four times so far and three of these were playing online poker. I even have a print screen of one of these taken at PokerChamps (click on the link to see the picture).

I agree it’s very rare, but let’s play poker, let’s enjoy the game, and dream of getting the five highest possible cards of one suit and pray that we get action when we make a hand that big. When one makes a Striaght Royal Flush, the board generally leaves very little for someone else to make a hand with. That aside, everyone dreams of making a Royal Flush when the pot is so big you couldn't jump over it. And we keep trying!
