PokerStars adds High Profile Players to WSOP Stable

As if the firepower of the past three WSOP Main Event Champions wasn’t enough, Team PokerStars has made three high profile additions to their roster of poker stars since the beginning of the World Series of Poker.

With a WPT victory at the Foxwoods Poker Classic and a high-money finish at the WPT Championship this year, Victor Ramdin is no stranger to the bright lights of poker celebrity. He exploded onto the poker scene over the past four years and has quickly become a feared opponent; amassing five cashes in WPT events over the last three seasons. This fearsome player has a softer side as well, leading a team of poker players back to his native Guyana each year to provide medical care to needy children.

Also no stranger to the bright lights is Team PokerStars’ latest celebrity spokes player, Norm MacDonald. The Saturday Night Live veteran has been seen sporting a PokerStars ’ polo in several WSOP events so far this year, making him the latest Hollywood star to go Vegas, following in the footsteps of WSOP Champ Jennifer Tilly, Hollywood Poker spokesman James Woods and Team PokerStars member Wil Wheaton.

But no addition to Team PokerStars caused a bigger stir than landing one of the most recognizable players yet to be affiliated with an online site, Barry Greenstein. WSOP Champion, WPT Champion, author and near-legendary philanthropist, Greenstein gave himself the ultimate vote of confidence by joining Team PokerStars.

"Since the last three winners of the WSOP main event are on the PokerStars team, and I plan to win it, I decided to show ultimate confidence in myself and join PokerStars ahead of time," Greenstein said.

Known for years as one of the strongest cash game players in the world, Greenstein gained renown as much for what he does with his tournament winnings as for the amount of his tournament successes. With 20 WSOP cashes and 11 money finishes on the World Poker Tour, Greenstein earned his nickname as “Robin Hood of Poker” by donating all of his tournament profits to various charities around the world. This amazing generosity has helped thousands of children all over the world to receive care that would otherwise not have been available.

Greenstein, MacDonald, and Ramdin bring new strength, heart and humor to the stable of stars that is Team PokerStars.
