PokerProForAYear is a competition where one lucky poker player will be sponsored into four major poker tournaments in 2008, (not just one or two - the total is FOUR), including airfare, accommodation and entry fees, valued at over $50,000! You could also win one of six packages to a major poker tournament like the WSOP, EPT or Aussie Millions!
Imagine if you will, raking the chips at the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Classic to the tune of $2 million, like Joe Hachem did in December of 2006. Think about winning nearly $12 Million, like Jamie Gold (and getting to keep ALL of it) in the main event of the WSOP. Or just think about getting a free trip to Australia next January to play in the Aussie Millions (win or lose or have a Mike ‘the mouth' Matusow meltdown, that's a killer trip!). PokerWorks will send you there with just a few simple steps.
Your first step is to press this exclusive link and to register in the site provided to begin your journey in becoming our Poker Pro For A Year. Some rules and restrictions apply so be sure to read the contest rules.
After registration, players will participate in the PokerProForAYear League, which will compete in six eight-week Seasons throughout 2007. Each Season will consist of seven low buy-in tournaments, one $500 freeroll, and one Global Freeroll (requirements apply) - where one lucky player will receive an all expense paid package to play in a live tournament such as the WSOP.
Even if you don't win the seat in the PokerProForAYear Final, you still may win a prize package to play in a major tournament courtesy of PokerWorks!
At the end of each Series, the top 10 point leaders will play for a seat in the PokerProForAYear Final. At the end of the year the points from each Series will be added together and the winner of the Overall Leader Board will also receive a place in the PokerProForAYear Final. The top 100 players on the Overall Leader Board will then face off in a freeroll for the last three remaining places.
Players may earn Leader Board points in several ways. Players earn 40 points for every $1 in Pacific Poker Tournament fees paid, so it's easy to rack up cash and points by playing in Pacific tourneys. Points are also awarded for participating in the PokerProForAYear League events and Global Freerolls (conditions apply), with extra points earned by placing among the top finishers of these tournaments.
The 10 players to compete in the PokerProForAYear Final will be determined as follows:
- Series 1 Final winner
- Series 2 Final winner
- Series 3 Final winner
- Series 4 Final winner
- Series 5 Final winner
- Series 6 Final winner
- Overall Leader Board winner
- Top three finishers in the Top 100 Overall Leader Board Freeroll at the end of the year
There are a pile of other prizes in addition to the Grand Prize of being a pro star like Phil Hellmuth for a year (but without the attitude). The 10 lucky players who qualify for the PokerProForAYear Final tournament will receive an all-expense paid trip to a secret location to play in the final tournament which will be taped for television broadcast.
The First Place Winner will receive sponsorship into four major poker tournaments in 2008 including buy-ins, accommodations, flights and all expenses, PLUS their own personal blog. Second place gets sponsorship into one major poker tournament in 2008 including buy-ins, accommodations, flights, and all expenses. And Third place gets $1,000 worth of entries into Pacific Poker Global Qualifiers!
The Winners of each season's Global Freeroll will also win a sponsored entry into a major tournament, like the EPT Dortmund, WSOP, WPT Grand Prix de Paris or the Aussie Millions! Each package consists of buy-in, accommodation and approximately $2,000 for flights and expenses.
