Transferring Money Between Sites

Finally, two Internet Poker rooms, Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker have established an agreement that allows you to transfer your poker bankroll funds back and forth between the two sites. Before the UIGEA there wasn't much need for this, online wallets and accounts handled the money transfers for everyone, but now U.S. Citizens need a little assistance, and this agreement will help a lot. Players of UB and Absolute can move their money back and forth to take advantage of the games and tournament schedules and promotions on both of the sites.

Anyone that spends time on the forums have seen posts as U.S players try to move money back and forth between sites to take advantage of special promotion tournaments, like the weekly $200K at Ultimate Bet and the $150K at Absolute or special promotional tournaments like their satellites to the Aruba Classic. These transfers will not be eligible for bonuses, but, the transfers between players aren't either. You must wait 48 hours after your most recent deposit, and the transfer is done manually so it will take an additional 48 hours for the transfer to be completed. Hopefully as the system is improved this time lag will become shorter also.

On the surface it might appear that allowing customers to transfer their money off their site onto another site helps the competition, and it does, but both sites will benefit from a larger player pool as the players move back and forth between the sites. Hopefully more sites will enter similar arrangements. It would definitely help the American players. Finally consider this. If it is good for poker, it is good for the industry, and everyone benefits.

Good Luck, JB
