Celebrity Charity Tournament for Youth

The 2nd Annual LAYN Celebrity Charity Tournament is scheduled to take place on September 22, 2007 in the Los Angeles area. Crystal Casino has offered up its poker room and new pool deck for the festivities that kick off at the 5:30pm registration time.

LAYN stands for the L.A. Youth Network, a non-profit organization assisting runaway and homeless youth from ages 12-17. The program set up in Los Angeles County is one that gives them some stability and helps them transition to safer places by helping them return home, placing them in a foster or group home, or teaching skills to enable them to live independently. They offer a wide range of services and are open seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The "All In For the Kids" no-limit hold'em tournament will require a $200 buy-in and offer $100 rebuys. There is a $30,000 guaranteed cash prize purse, though organizers anticipate an even larger prize pool, possibly up to $50,000, based on the anticipated outcome.

Prior to the tournament, there will be food, music, and other entertainment offered on the pool deck. A silent auction will also set up with various donated prizes for the bidding. In order to attend the festivities without playing in the tournament, a $100 donation is required.

Crystal Casino is located at 123 East Artesia Boulevard in Compton, California, just off the 91 Freeway and near the 710 Freeway. Directions can be obtained at the Crystal Casino website.

Pre-registration is available at LAYN , and additional information will be provided by calling 323-467-8466 xt.12.
