WCOOP Event #16

Over 1,500 gamblers plunked down $320 each for a chance at the gold bracelet in Event #16 in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker, Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo. Two hours later, there were nine survivors. When the final table started, the chip stacks looked like this -

Seat 1: VicVega9 (425024 in chips)
Seat 2: tiger76 (1108988 in chips)
Seat 3: GotGame76 (457804 in chips)
Seat 4: phyllis (660454 in chips)
Seat 5: mikiantimd (192693 in chips)
Seat 6: PokerSavage1 (632000 in chips)
Seat 7: mrmanorman (204044 in chips)
Seat 8: INKO05 (640274 in chips)
Seat 9: Jackarama (286719 in chips)

Phyllis came to the final table in strong position, with one of the biggest stacks. Pot Limit Omaha 8 is a game of huge swings, though, and phyllis' stack took some big hits early on. After calling a reraise from INKO05, the flop came down {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. INKO05 led out and the rest of phyllis' chip went in the middle. Phyllis was holding {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{A-Hearts} for two pair and a strong low draw, but the low draw was counterfeited by the {3-Diamonds} on the turn, and gave INKO05 the nut flush with {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. The river Q didn't help phyllis' hand, and Phyllis went out in 9th place ($4,417.20).

Mikiantimd saw a free flop from the big blind and checked the flop of {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts} along with GotGame76. The turn brought the {Q-Clubs}, and mikiantimd raised GotGame76. GotGame76 called, and led out again on the river {8-Diamonds}. Mikiantimd called all in, and turned over {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a flopped set that turned into a boat by the river, but GotGame76 had {9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a rivered bigger boat. Mikiantimd went out in 8th for $7,050.24.

VicVega9 got it all in soon after when he sent his chips in preflop against INKO05 with {5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}, only to see INKO05 turn over {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. No help on the board for VicVega9, and he finished in 7th with $11,427. Jackarama was next to fall underneath the INKO05 bulldozer as his over pair was no good to INKO05's flopped trips, and he bounced in 6th with $16,128. A few hands later, the field was cut to four when mrmanorman missed his gutshot and flush draws to bust in fifth when tiger76's flopped set made a full house on the turn. Mrmanorman picked up $21,196 for his 5th-place finish.

Another 30 minutes would pass before the next elimination, as players slowed down to a more deliberate pace as the stacks neared even. PokerSavage1 got all in against GotGame76 with {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, and he went to the rail in 4th when GotGame76's {5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} made a boat on the flop and PokerSavage1 couldn't catch up. PokerSavage1 earned $27,095 for his 4th-place finish.

The remaining three players made a deal to leave $14,000 for first and secure themselves the following payouts -

tiger76 - $47,419
GotGame - $68,974
INKO05 - $46,784
Once the deal was made, the chips flew into the middle of the table. Tiger76 and INKO05 shoved chips around until tiger76 was all in on a flop of {2-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{6-Spades}. The turn and river blanked and tiger76 picked up the pot with a pair of Aces. INKO05 was crippled, and busted a few hands later in third place.
GotGame opened up a quick 2-1 chip lead, but tiger76 refused to give up. Tiger76 claimed the chip lead when he turned the nut flush and doubled through GotGame76, then they got it all in again on the next hand. GotGame76 raised preflop and tiger76 called. On the flop of {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, tiger76 raised GotGame76's bet and GotGame76 called. All the money went in on the turn of the {7-Diamonds}. GotGame76 was ahead with the {3-Hearts}{A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, but the Ace on the river made the wheel for tiger76's {4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and he scooped the final pot and his WCOOP bracelet.
