Many players consider HORSE to be the truest test of poker skill, mixing five different games in one event. Many other players consider a higher buy-in to create a more skillful field. PokerStars WCOOP Event #21, the $5,000 HORSE tournament certainly gave those players the best of both worlds, with a big buy-in mixed format featuring 177 of the biggest players in the poker world.
By the time the final table was set; eight players were left to chase their WCOOP bracelet dream and the $225,000 first place money. The chip stacks looked like this as the final table kicked off -

With an exceptionally short stack, TwinkleStar raised on third street with ()-, then called a re-raise from BOBALOB, who had a Queen in the door. TwinkleStar hit running nines on fourth and fifth street, but BOBALOB made Queens up by seventh street, and TwinkleStar was busted in 8th place for $22,657.
It wasn't long after TwinkleStar's exit that the second shortest stack found all his chips in the middle. BUS02 had showing, but never had to show his hole cards as he ended up the odd man out in a three way pot with hairos and BOBALOB. BOBALOB made an eight-low for half the pot and hairos grabbed the high hand with a straight flush, sending BUS02 home in 7th place for $31,860.
That set the stage for a 30-minute break and a return to Limit Hold ‘Em. The final six chip stacks looked like this -

ROXY24 was looking good to double through tj_trail on the turn with J-9 on a board of , but the Ace on the river made tj_trail's good for the win and sent ROXY24 to the rail in 6th place (41,595). Tj_trail claimed another victim when a flush on the river crippled Cordelia. Cordelia was all in on the big blind the next hand and busted in 5th for $55,755. Tj_trail used the hold‘em round to build a big chip lead, as stacks looked like this as the Omaha Hi/Lo round started -

As the Omaha round continued, BOBALOB watched his stack slide until he finally got all in with . Tj_trail called with A-A-J-x, and flopped Broadway with the board reading . The board didn't pair, and BOBALOB was busted in 4th for $71,685.
Throughout the Omaha round, hairos picked up chips steadily and took over the chip lead as tj_trail dropped all the way to third place. Finally, in the Razz round, tj_trail was beaten down further and further until he got all his chips in with a 10-low to svesken's 6-low and busted in 3rd place ($103,987).
The chip stacks were close going into heads up play, and it only took hairos a few minutes to pull even with svesken. The players made a deal for $176,921 each, leaving the bracelet and $26,000 on the table for the eventual winner. It took another 30 minutes, but hairos eventually took apart svesken for the $26K and the bracelet after a marathon tournament.
