U.S. Poker Championship - Team Bodog

On the banks of the Jersey Shore in Atlantic City stands The Donald's palace of play - The Trump Taj Mahal - where the slogan is "Your kingdom awaits you". Today that kingdom will be filled with some of the best poker players from around the globe as they do battle on the green felt, the victor to be crowned the US Poker Champion.

The US Poker Championship 10,000 NLH, five day event started today and will end on Saturday October 6th with the final table action. Two of the many formidable opponents hoping to conquer the kingdom in this tournament will be Team Bodog poker players Matt McCullough and Matt Larsh.

McCullough was in London last month where he finished an impressive 3rd at the 2007 WSOP European Event, bringing home $760,000 and eliminating among others, Gus Hanson and Phil Hellmuth along the way. He now hopes to best that performance with a win at the US Poker Championship

Matt Larsh free rolled his way to the European WSOP by winning two "Players Choice" deals on Bodog. These packages included buy-ins for two 10,000 or less buy-in events of his choice plus travel expenses. He used one of his buy-ins for the WSOPE in London, the other he is using at this US Poker Championship event. If victorious, the 24 year old Larsh could become one of the youngest players to wear the crown.

Last year, Alex Jacob took home $878,500 and the title of US Poker Champ. Other past winners of this event are; John Hennigan, Toto Leonidas, Men "The Master" Nguyen, and Daniel Negreanu.

Want to be at the US Poker Championship event next year? Play Bodog and you could win your own "players choice" package. They give away a package every week and it could be your opportunity to play with the Big Dogs!
