Mike Matusow Plans to Teach Poker

It's official. Mike "The Mouth" Matusow is going to teach poker.

The ink is dry on an agreement between Matusow and iAmplifyVegas to develop a downloadable audio/video production that will include poker content and educational tools for poker players who want to improve their game. The series of poker lessons that will comprise one course will soon be available for download to computers, cell phones, and iPods.

Matusow, who is already hard at work on the course, said, "I am excited to complete this project. I hope my fans are not only entertained by the course we are developing, but also learn valuable information to improve their poker game."

One of the most vocal and interesting personalities on the poker tournament circuit, Matusow has long claimed that he is one of the best players in the world but doesn't win as much as he could because he has the worst luck in poker. Even so, his poker resume is an impressive one. He has 21 World Series of Poker cashes, two being his bracelet wins in 1999 in no-limit hold'em and 2002 in Omaha hi-lo split, and more than half of the other being final table appearances. He also has several notable finishes in World Poker Tour events that include four televised final tables, two of which have been within months of each other in 2007 at the Bellagio Cup III and the Borgata Poker Open. The Full Tilt pro has accumulated nearly $6 million in tournament winnings in his professional career, a figure that does not even take into consideration his online accomplishments or cash game successes. Not many people doubt his skills at the table, as even Phil Hellmuth will often provide financial backing based on Matusow's poker abilities. The instructional course will no doubt be entertaining but most likely informative as well.

iAmplify is excited to have Mike Matusow in their download lineup. Kipp Marcus, VP of Creative and Content Acquisition for the company, noted that he is thrilled "to bring Mike's game-winning strategies and highly-charged antics to iPods and computers. iAmplifyVegas, with the help of Matusow, is committed to bringing new, exclusive insights to raise the game of tournament poker players worldwide."

When the downloadable course is available, it will be found at Other courses currently available there are Phil Hellmuth's "Ultimate White to Black Belt Poker Course," Antonio Esfandiari's "Aggressive Poker" and Joe Navarro's "Read ‘Em and Reap."
