PokerStars APPT Brings Poker to “Las Vegas of Asia”

PokerStars announced the first ever live money NLH tournament to be held in the People's Republic of China will be at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino on the historic island of Macau. The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Macau Asian Poker Open will take place from November 22-27 with a main event buy-in USD$2,500.

The general manager of the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino, Gary Woollard, said, "We are very honored to work with the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour and First Impression Ltd. to make this a successful event. Poker is experiencing tremendous growth in Asia and we are very excited to be a part of this growth, particularly as the first casino to host live poker in Macau."

Filmed for television and distributed globally, the APPT launched in Manila, Philippines in August. Seoul, Korea hosted the second event in September. In December, the final event of Season One will be held in Sydney Australia.

Some of the world's top players and Team PokerStars Ambassadors are expected to attend the event in Macau.
