World Poker Store Hosts “Holdem for the Holidays”

On December 7th The World Poker Store (WPKS) hosted the “Holdem For The Holidays” event, which was held at their newest retail location in Federal Way, Washington.

International poker pro and WPKS Advisory Board member Marcel Luske, "The Flying Dutchman," was the celebrity host for the free event.

Marcel stopped in to make an appearance while on his way to the Bellagio’s WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Vegas. While at the WPKS event he signed autographs and chatted with the locals, sharing his poker experiences. The lucky locals who made it that far in the tournament also had a chance to face off against Marcel at the final table.

The tournament was a free event, with poker themed prizes being awarded throughout the night. Reserved tournament seats were given away during the preceding week at the WPKS, although a limited number of seats were available to the public, on a first come first serve basis.

The event was staged to celebrate the grand opening of the WPKS retail store in Washington, and to promote The Bar Poker League in the state. With the newest 6,000 sq. foot retail outlet in the Commons at Federal Way, the company currently boasts three stores with more planned for the future.

Devoted entirely to poker, The World Poker Store is a unique retail venue. The store sells everything and anything poker related including, casino caliber poker chips, Holdem tables, Poker DVDs, Poker Books and Poker themed clothing. The World Poker Store also promoted their association with The Bar Poker League at the Washington event. They are hoping to add to the League’s membership roster, as members are needed for the League’s upcoming WA launch.

When The WA Bar Poker League kicks off in January, Holdem tournaments will be hosted at restaurants and bars in the Tacoma and Seattle areas. The Bar Poker League, along with the WPKS, currently hosts hundreds of free Holdem tournaments every week, and is adding new League members daily. One of the best features of the tournaments, besides being free, is that they are all 100% legal since no “gambling” is involved.

The WPKS is a Nevada corporation with their corporate office located in St. Paul, MN. With offices also in Fort Myers, FL, Federal Way, WA, Amsterdam, NL, and Shenzhen, China, The WPKS Inc. is able to bring free Holdem to countries all over the world and promote the game of poker globally.

To help promote the WPKS, their advisory board is a who’s who in the poker world. The board, besides Marcel, includes such renowned players as Hoyt Corkins, Patrik Antonius, Liz Lieu, Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan, who represent the WPKS at free events around the globe. The board also serves to keep the WPKS abreast of the current trends in the poker community.

These free tournaments are not only a great way to promote the WPKS retail stores, but to promote the game of poker around the world as well.
