2008 World Poker Open – Event #15 results

Before I get to the results for Event #15, I wanted to point out some of the players I saw playing in the $5,000 PLO event. Among the notable names were Bill Edler (who's had a great run recently), Josh Arieh, Devilfish , Humberto Brenes, Robert Williamson III, Surindar Sunar, John Phan, Steve Billirakis, and Dustin Dirksen. Not bad considering only 48 players entered the event. I also saw Chad Brown playing in a $1,000 sit and go later.

A couple of observations...

Devilfish has a very attractive girl hanging on his side. Who says money can't buy everything?

I met Dustin Dirksen at the WSOP this year... super nice guy and he's going to be unable to play in the main event this year because it is his pregnant girlfriend's 21st birthday. I suppose that is a good reason.

I notice Humberto Brenes is much quieter when there are no television cameras around. I'm not sure if he's toned things down (I hope so) or if he really does just play to the camera when an event is being televised. If it's the latter, then I find his actions kind of phony... if you're going to act a certain way, you should do it all the time, not just when it is convenient for you to get media attention.
