Four Women Found Stalking Chris Ferguson

Maybe stalking is not exactly true, but they definitely ARE chasing him. A new blog debuted on PokerWorks recently aptly named “Chasing Chris Ferguson ” and that is exactly what four women are doing. While not chasing him in the literal sense, they are chasing his poker accomplishment starting with -0- and running it into a big bankroll.

One of the chasers is PokerWorks own, Linda Geenen. If you are a regular reader of Linda’s blog, Table Tango, you already know about the Chasing Chris project, and if you don’t read her blog, you are missing out. Linda has a great take on all aspects of life, including poker, from both sides of the green felt.

When the project started, all the chasers wrote a short bio on themselves, because as Linda said, “Sure, we want you to know what we’re all about because it’s important for you to understand our playing skills, our poker background, and what we are going to try to accomplish.”

Linda set up the Chasing Chris blog so all the chasers could blog about their play and get feedback from readers. Linda explains the Chasing Chris Ferguson experiment like this:

“Most of the online poker population knows that Chris Ferguson started with -0- bankroll and turned it into over $10,000. Most of you must have asked yourself, “How the hell did he do it?” We have no idea. But we are going to try to find out as we start with a -0- bankroll and hit freerolls on various poker sites, hoping to win some big bucks in the long run of a year’s time.

“The first rule is there are no rules. We can play anyway, anytime, we want to play. We are NOT sharing bankrolls. We are simply sharing our playing experiences here, with each other, and with you. We hope you will leave us comments and help us along our way of improving our playing skills and hopefully, building our bankroll.

“We are not cashing out for the year’s time commitment, even if we have big bucks in our accounts and need the $$, it stays in our account. Hell…you all know the common rule of thumb, as soon as you cash out, the Cash Out Fairy puts a spell on you and you can’t win a pot after that.

“The cast consists of:
MOI, Linda - Table Tango
Carmen - a Poker Girl in Vegas and writer for PokerWorks
Maxiecat - who is very new to poker, this will be a total learning curve for her, and this is her first blogging experience also
Glenda has occupied both sides of green felt, played poker online and live, and this is her first blogging experience too and she writes for PokerWorks.

“We hope you’ll enjoy our journey as we try to catch Chris Ferguson and prove we can start from dead ass zero and build every poker player’s dream…the bankroll.

“Please check back often because you know how it is when there are four women in the house…”

As you may have guessed, I am Glenda, one of the “chasers”. I have to admit, I think Chris is cute, but I never expected to be chasing him.
So far, this project has been fun, aggravating, exasperating, irritating, exciting and most of all challenging.

The more we pursue this dream, the more respect we garner for the esteemed Mr. Ferguson. The patience and discipline it takes to build up a bankroll from nothing is a quality most mortals do not possess, myself included.

The nice thing about this experiment is we are not in competition with each other. We are as proud of each other’s wins as we are of our own. The goal of building a bankroll is our competition, not the players on the team. If one succeeds, we feel we all have, which makes the whole thing even more enjoyable. If you think it is easy, read our blog. Not only do we struggle with our own minds and bad playing habits, but with life as well, as sometimes life gets in the way of poker.

We all hope you will tune in, read our blog and leave comments. We also invite you to sweat us (watch us play), or better yet, grab a seat and play with us. Chat us up, when we play good – or when we play bad, we like to chat as it helps ease the boredom.

I play on PokerStars, my name is PokerHack07 and you can find me in tournaments or 7 Card Stud Hi-Low games.

Linda also plays on PokerStars and her screen name is PokerWorks. She plays tournaments, Hold’em, Omaha 8 or Better, 7 Card Stud Hi-Low, and Stud. Just don’t mention Razz to her, if you want to know why, read her blog – but she does play it now and then.

Maxiecat plays on Full Tilt Poker in Freeroll tournaments.

Carmen plays on Full Tilt Poker, Ultimate Bet , and wherever else she has a mind to.

Linda and I play on PokerStars because that is where we started, got lucky and managed to build a little bankroll – starting with -0-.

Come join us, and Fasten Your Seatbelt….. It’s going to be a bumpy ride!
