The latest and greatest in poker courses has been announced by the World Series of Poker Academy. It will be the first of its kind in that it will focus exclusively on advanced no-limit Texas hold’em theory and strategy.

This particular WSOP Academy will be offered on April 18th and 19th – Friday and Saturday – of 2008 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The all-star line-up of instructors includes Howard Lederer, Annie Duke, Phil Gordon, Paul Wasicka, Andy Bloch, Alex Outhred, and others yet to be confirmed or announced. Also conducting a special seminar about decoding poker tells will be Joe Navarro, a retired FBI agent, author, and poker tells expert.

The schedule for the advanced two-day course will be made up of in-depth seminars, live hand analysis and interactive workshops, and numerous question-and-answer periods. During regularly scheduled breaks, the instructors will be available for conversation and advice. At the end of each day of seminars and poker instruction, there will be a tournament for participants, and the winner of each night’s event will be awarded a $10,000 seat into the 2008 World Series of Poker main event.

Jeff Goldenberg of Post Oak Productions, the company that produces the WSOP Academy, noted, “We’re thrilled to be giving away two seats to the 2008 WSOP main event. Last summer we had one of our participants, Sally Ann Boyer, go from Academy grad one day to world champion the next. That’s the kind of confidence and skills students take away from our academy, and we expect our seat winners to compete at the absolute highest level at this year’s WSOP.”

Touted as the most comprehensive course ever offered, the seminars will focus on the advanced math of poker, decoding poker tells, and winning strategies specific to cash games, tournaments, heads-up play, and pre-flop and post-flop play. The cost of the course is $1,999.00, and seating is limited.

Caesars Palace is offering a special hotel room rate for participants in the WSOP Advance Academy - $139 per weekday and $219 per weekend night.

Goldenberg added, “If you’ve ever attended a poker camp before or you’re a serious student of the game, now is the time to graduate to the next level. With our team of world-class instructors, our No-Limit Hold’em Advanced Academy is the sure-fire way to elevate your game to new heights.”
