The inaugural Bodog Poker Open kicked off with its first event on March 3rd, and the results were impressive. Not only did Bodog Team members Evelyn Ng and Josh Arieh finish in the top three, but the field included a number of pros who were drawn to the tournament series.
Event #1 was the $250 + 20 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament with $10,000 added to the prize pool by Bodog, creating a prize pool of $104,250. Those who competed in the event included Bodog pros Ng, Arieh, and David Williams, along with Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad, Kevin “beLOWaBOVe” Saul, Jon “PearlJammer” Turner, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby, Eric “Rizen” Lynch, and Thayer “Thay3r” Rasmussen.
First place was won by an online player with the moniker “Rusostreet” for a payday of $26,062.50 and a seat into the Bodog Poker Open main event that will take place on Sunday, March 9th. Second place was taken by Ng, who won $16,680, and Arieh finished third for $11,571.75. It was a grand showing by the Bodog Team in the first event of its kind on the site.
Satellite qualifiers continue to run daily for seats into the remainder of the Bodog Poker Open events, including the main event – a $500 buy-in championship with an additional $25,000 added to the prize pool by Bodog.
