The Bodog Poker Blogger Tournament Series began on February 5th, and its popularity has been growing with each weekly tournament. As each event leads up to the finale on June 10th, players are looking forward to the grand prize of a $12,000 2008 WSOP main event prize package.
It happens every Tuesday night at 9:05pm EST. For $10 + $1, players have the opportunity to compete for a weekly prize pool. In addition, the top five finishers each week win $109 in tournament chips, which allows them to compete in that week’s Sunday $100,000 guaranteed tournament. Even the top five bubble players receive free entries into the next week’s blogger event.
The weekly tournaments are a part of the 18-week series which wraps up on June 3rd and culminates in the finale on Tuesday, June 10th. The top 30% of finishers in each tournament earn points, and each takes a place on the leader board. In the end, the top 18 players on that board will compete in the series finale for the $12,000 WSOP prize package, which includes a buy-in to the $10,000 main event and funds for accommodations and travel.
Each week presents a new tournament with new players in the mix, excitement about the status of various players on the leader board, and Team Bodog members getting involved. Several weeks ago, Josh Arieh threw his hat into the ring. Last week, the host blogger of the tournament series $mokkee busted out early but ended up going deep in Bodog’s 20k tournament alongside new Team Bodog member Jean-Robert Bellande. You never know what can happen as a result of these blogger tournaments!
