Everest Poker Supportive of WSOP Final Table Delay

On the heels of its new branding deal with the World Series of Poker, Everest Poker announced its support of the new WSOP main event final table schedule. Everest is said to be “delighted” with the recent decision for a November 2008 date final table.

Everest Poker entered into a multi-year deal with Harrah’s Entertainment on March 5th, 2008, to brand all table felts during the 2008 World Series of Poker and the inner rung of all ESPN-televised tables. The Everest Poker logo on the final table of the main event now has added value with the announcement that the WSOP will delay the airing of its final table until November of 2008 to maximize viewership on ESPN. The company already estimated that its name will be seen by a global audience of 200 million people.

Jennifer Joyce, Chief Marketing Officer for Everest Poker, said, “This move is a masterstroke for the WSOP’s global profile and will undoubtedly make the build up to the final table the most dramatic yet. From both a commercial and personal point of view I am hugely supportive of the scheduling and from a European perspective it gives everybody a much better chance to see the biggest event in world poker.”

World Series of Poker Director of Marketing, Sponsorship and Licensing Ty Stewart added, “Simply put, it is our responsibility to elevate the world championship of poker. There’s a common denominator to all popular sporting events in any culture – a meaningful prize, participants you can root for, and a sense of drama. The new format will encourage more people to discover this great game and its seminal tournament.”

Everest Poker has more than 11 years of online gaming experience and offers its online services to customers worldwide, with the exception of the United States due to its recent legislation. The majority of its customers are located in Europe, as it is located there and has traditionally been aimed at that market. The company hopes to grow its brand with the WSOP deal and let the global market know that it is a major player in the online poker scene. The publicity garnered from the 2008 WSOP may catapult them to the top of that market.

In addition, the agreement with Harrah’s means that Everest Poker will be sending more players to the 2008 WSOP than ever before to play on the Everest Poker team. Satellites are currently running on the site, and seats are being awarded from now into the month of June. Those winning seats will not only win prize packages to travel to Las Vegas and play in the main event, but they – along with anyone carrying a European passport – will be special guests at the EPEP, the Everest Poker European Party in Las Vegas this summer.
