FTOPS VIII Starts May 7th on Full Tilt

It is that time again! One of the most exciting times of the year in online poker has approached with the eighth installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). The series of 24-events is set to begin on Wednesday, May 7th and run straight through to Sunday, May 18th.

With more than $10 million in guaranteed prize money up for grabs, even more excitement is in store with each of the 24 events being hosted by a Full Tilt Pro. And not only can players track their progress through the events on the FTOPS leader board, but video highlights from each final table will be provided with announcing, courtesy of announcer Ali Nejad.

Winning an event not only brings with it the prestige of holding a coveted FTOPS title, but extra prizes are in store during this series. First place finishers will each receive a gold FTOPS jersey, gold jersey avatar for use on Full Tilt Poker, and an entry to the FTOPS Season II Tournament of Champions on May 24th. The winner of that TOC will receive a seat into the 2008 World Series of Poker $10,000 buy-in main event.

After FTOPS debuted in August of 2006 with a little more than $1 million in prizes, each installment of the series grew. In February of 2008, FTOPS VII awarded more than $15 million, and the upcoming series looks to break all records. Satellites are running around the clock for players at all experience levels and bankroll amounts. There is even an FTOPS VII Satellite Challenge to increase the winning and allow play in more events.
