Five more Winners are announced at Full Tilt Poker's FTOPS VIII

Full Tilt Poker's FTOPS VIII is coming to a close with the Main Event taking place today. Many players decided to take advantage of the opportunity to make some big cashes before Full Tilt’s 8th annual online poker series ends.

1,294 of these people attempted to cash in at Thursday’s No Limit Hold’em 4X Shootout event that had the tables set at 6-max. The prize pool went well above the guarantee of $200,000 as it reached $258,000 when nearly 1,300 paid the $200 + $16 buy-in.

“OUSOONERS24” made off with the most money after winning Event #17 which earned $45,290 for the Oklahoma U. fan. The host of this tourney, Markus Golser, barely made it into the money at 143rd place while Lee Watkinson and online guru Jon “PearlJammed” Turner both made it in too after placing 35th and 90th.

Thursday’s second tournament was Event #18 which was a $300 + $22 Razz affair that 545 people bought into to make the prize pool worth $163,500. Event #4 host Marco Traniello made a big run at the top spot before falling short at 7th place which is the best finish by a Full Tilt pro yet.

Those who did make it to the top were “Tridynamo” and “eagle1829” who went at it for first place. When everything was said and done, eagle1829 won and claimed $38,749 while Tridynamo made $25,669 for getting second place.

Friday began with a simple No Limit Hold’em tourney in Event #19 and 1,994 people showed up to play. The buy-ins were $200 + $16 and the total cash ended up being $398,800.

Fighting his way up the leaderboards, the stellar, online player, Aaron Bartley, hoped to make it to the final table but went out at 24th place. Full Tilt pro Steve Brecher wasn’t far behind at 47th place and Lee Watkinson made his second cash in as many days after finishing 256th. The top honors were taken by “Pot Odds 3” who made $73,379 for winning Event #19.

Friday came to a close with Event #20 taking place and it was a Limit Hold’em tournament with 6-max tables. 915 people paying the $200 + $16 buy-in wasn’t enough to eclipse the $200,000 mark making this the first FTOPS tourney where the buy-ins didn’t exceed the guaranteed prize pool. “mypokerlife” took this lackluster event and the $41,700 that came with first place. No Full Tilt Pros cashed in this time.

Saturday’s Event #22 was a Pot Limit Omaha Re-buy tournament and 939 people paid the $100 + $9 buy-in to play. This was a really good event for the Full Tilt pros as Berry Johnston, Nenad Medic, Ross Boatman, and Stefan Rapp all placed in the money.

“gregguiche”, who placed 2nd in Event #2, also made an appearance on the money list at 19th. But in the end, this tourney belonged to “theASHMAN103” who defeated “Frooodo” for the top spot and $85,146 that went with it. Frooodo made $53,679 for the second place effort.

The results of Event #21 are not in yet and the FTOPS still has Event #23 and the Main Event in #24 to go. Make sure to check back in to see who made some major money at the final FTOPS tournaments.
