Full Tilt Fever: Iron Man Mania

What an amazing time to be playing on Full Tilt Poker, and in my case, writing about everything going on there. Full Tilt has been on fire this month, and there are more exciting promotions and tournaments to come!

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) VIII just wrapped up by making history with the first winner to take down two events in the same FTOPS series. In addition, the eighth installment of the popular series guaranteed $10 million to be given away but ended up paying out a grand total of $15,378,400 to its winners.

And as mentioned in my inaugural Full Tilt Fever column, the site is gearing up for its $25k Heads-Up World Championship. The biggest buy-in heads-up tournament ever held is set to play out on May 24 and 25, and all 64 seats are spoken for. However, there are still four satellite spots available for winners who claim their seats in qualifying tournaments over the few days leading up to the main event, so there is still time to compete in this elite tournament.

There is an interesting new promotion that was only recently launched on Full Tilt called the Iron Man Challenge. The site would like to reward players who show a particular type of tenacity and dedication, those who perform well month after month, and this will be done through the awarding of Iron Man medals each month.

Each month, there are four status levels to which players can strive to achieve – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Iron, based on the number of Full Tilt points accumulated. The promotion began in May and will be ongoing beyond 2008. Additional medals will be awarded by maintaining a certain level of play, or achieving the next higher level, for two or more consecutive months. Medals can be redeemed in the Iron Man Challenge Store for tournament tokens, cash bonuses, and the chance to create your own tables.

Rewards in the Iron Man Challenge are plenty. By earning just one Full Tilt point per day on each day of a particular month, players can qualify for a special $2000 freeroll. Those who excel in those freerolls win the chance to compete in a four-player shootout tournament where the winner will receive an additional $5000. That winner will also go on to play three Full Tilt Pros in consecutive heads-up matches with thousands of dollars on the line!

Download Full Tilt Poker and get into the mix - start earning Iron Man medals and getting extra rewards for your play. Use the bonus code “POKERWORKS” upon making an initial deposit and earn a 100% bonus on dollar amounts up to $600.
