New Benefits and WSOP Drawing for PPA Members

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has had a stellar year thus far, reaching the one million member milestone, organizing an attorney referral service, launching a PAC, and assigning state directors to help mobilize the poker masses. Now, the PPA has launched an enhanced website and announced new membership benefits.

The newer, updated PPA website is designed to be more interactive and user friendly. There are now blogs written by each of the organization’s state directors as well as improved forums that allow for easier communication and the ability for members to have more direct access to their own state’s activities. In addition, some of the resources available to members, such as the Litigation Support Network, are expanding, and members will have the right to vote for the at-large member of the PPA’s board of directors.

Another change that visitors to the PPA website will notice is the result of a partnership with OneBigPlanet, a company that assists in commerce and loyalty platforms for social organizations like the PPA. Members will now be able to utilize a one-stop consumer portal that serves as an online royalty rewards program that offers discounts of 10% to 70% on purchases from select online merchants, such as Target, Tivo, and XM Satellite Radio.

In addition, every new dues-paying member of the PPA that registers before June 10, 2008 and makes one purchase through OneBigPlanet will be automatically enrolled in a WSOP contest. Specifically, by becoming a PPA Online Premium Member for $20 per year and using the rewards program at least once, an entry is awarded into a drawing for a 2008 World Series of Poker main event seat to be given away on June 17.

Christopher Norford, Senior Vice President of Strategic Alliances at OneBigPlanet Corporation, said, “We are pleased to reach an agreement with Poker Players Alliance. Our portal was developed specifically for organizations like the Poker Players Alliance who are looking for a powerful and user-friendly solution that requires as little effort as possible while helping them achieve their objectives. Our various departments make sure that our clients’ needs are met at every level, thus allowing them to focus on the more important activities related to their core business.”

PPA Chairman Alfonse D’Amato added, “The PPA has entered into the top tier of advocacy organizations, and we have only our members to thank. As such, we are constantly looking for ways to increase the value of a PPA membership. I am excited about the opportunities our new website and enhanced membership benefits offer to our members as we continue the fight to protect poker players’ rights.”

The PPA is a nonprofit membership organization comprised of poker players and enthusiasts in the United States who wish to promote the game and protect the right to play the game. More information can be found at PokerPlayersAlliance.org .
