Full Tilt Fever: WSOP Fantasy Poker League

As if you didn’t know, the 2008 World Series of Poker is in full swing in Las Vegas. Thousands of people have descended upon the Rio to participate in the most prestigious tournaments of the year, but none are more visible than the poker pros that catch everyone’s eye. Will Phil Hellmuth win a 12th bracelet? Will Doyle Brunson or Johnny Chan win an 11th WSOP title? We’re all watching.

And of course, the Full Tilt Pros are right in the center of the WSOP action. Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Jennifer Harman, and Erik Seidel are only a few who are playing their hearts out already. Andy Bloch took a tough second place in Event #1, the $10K World Championship of Pot Limit Hold’em, and Chris Ferguson made the final table of Event #2, the $1,500 no-limit hold’em event.

Face it. We all have our favorites – the ones we could bet on to win a bracelet. Full Tilt Poker has created a free Fantasy Poker League to allow you to do just that and assemble your own line-up for selected 2008 WSOP events. Not only does it make you feel closer to the action, but you could also win prizes, including a free seat into the 2009 WSOP main event!

To get started, click on the “My Promotions” link on the Cashier page. The Fantasy Poker link will come up and allow you to pick a 15-player team from a roster of more than 300 poker pros. Your team will consist of five “A” players who represent triple the actual winnings in Fantasy Dollars, five “B” players who allow you to earn double, and five “C” players who play for even Fantasy Dollars. The ability to change the roster before each event is also available.

Action began on Friday, May 30th, but the 2008 WSOP is only in its first week, so there is plenty of time to enter, though the sooner you enter, the more chances you have to win. The Fantasy Poker League runs through Thursday, July 3rd, which is when the main event begins.

The fun begins when you sign up, then check the standings every day to see your players’ progress. You can even sign up for e-mail reminders for weekly summaries of your players and notices of deadlines. Not only could you win great prizes from the Full Tilt Poker store, but there are entries into freeroll tournaments that could score that 2009 WSOP seat.

And while you’re on Full Tilt, don’t forget that the Mini Series of Poker (MSOP) is running concurrently with the WSOP, and events are taking place daily. At just 1/100th of the buy-in of WSOP tournaments, buy-ins are reasonable, and prize pools are proving to be sizable.

Download Full Tilt Poker now to join the Fantasy Poker League, and to play a few MSOP events while you’re at it. Use the bonus code “POKERWORKS” upon making an initial deposit and earn a 100% bonus on dollar amounts up to $600.
