WSOP Main Event Day 4 Recap

When play started on day four, 474 players came in with visions of being interviewed by Norman Chad after winning the biggest poker tournament in the world. Three and a half levels later, nearly 300 of those players would be spectators of the Main Event as they were eliminated. 189 players returned on day five, their dream one step closer to becoming a reality.

Among the players who played on day four and didn't advance were Johnny Chan, Robert Mizrachi, Jason Young, Kirill Gerasimov, Jean-Robert Bellande, Mike Wattel, Dave Colclough, Tim West, Adam Schoenfeld, Frankie O'Dell, Cliff Josephy, Jason Lester, Bertrand Grospellier, Ray Henson, Hasan Habib, Maya Antonius, Thayer Rasmussen, Carmel Petresco, Alan Jaffray, Dustin Holmes, Dag Martin Mikkelson, Ted Park, Van Nguyen, Hevad Khan, Evelyn Ng, Jon Turner, and Steve Billirakis.

Some of the best players in the world survived the action including the always volatile Phil Hellmuth and his brother in arms, Mike Matusow. Other big names still in the hunt for poker immortality are Allen Cunningham, Thomas Keller, Hoyt Corkins, Matt Lessinger, Kido Pham, Chip Jett, Jeff Madsen, Adam Levy, Jeff Kimber, Matt Matros, Alexander Kostritsyn, Victor Ramdin, Alex Outhred, Shawn Sheikhan, Chino Rheem, Brandon Cantu, and Gus Hansen.

Tiffany Michelle of PokerNews.com leads the way for the five remaining women with 909,000 in chips. The other four women are EPT hostess Kara Scott, Karen Manfrede, Lisa Parsons, and Minna Ritakorpi.
