Full Tilt Fever: FTOPS IX Starts Off With a Bang

On August 6th, after much anticipation, the ninth installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) got underway. And if the first event was any indication of this series’ popularity and the excitement surrounding it, FTOPS IX is going to be the biggest and best online tournament series yet!

Event #1 of the current FTOPS was a $200 + $16 no-limit hold’em tournament with a $1 million prize pool guarantee. But when it actually began, the 5,779 players who registered made the prize pool an astounding $1,155,800, surpassing the goals of Full Tilt. The event was hosted by Allen Cunningham, who unfortunately didn’t cash in the tournament, but “GARFIELD25” was able to take first place and the $199,398.62 that came with it. “GARFIELD25” was also awarded a limited-edition gold FTOPS jersey and a gold jersey avatar to be used on Full Tilt Poker.

The second and third events are also in the bag with both exceeding the guaranteed prize pools of $200K and $250K respectively. Event #2 was the $240 + $16 pot-limit Omaha/8 knockout with 2008 WSOP bracelet winner Martin Klaser as the host, and “Teledonk” took it down along with the $51,210 first prize. And Event #3 was the $200 + $16 no-limit hold’em 4x shootout 6-max tournament with Greg Mueller as the host. “CapTinBisKuit” scored the win there and a $45,360 prize.

The excitement of FTOPS IX continues to grow, and the events roll on. A Full Tilt Pro hosts each event on the schedule, and there will be at least one event taking place daily, leading up to the $500 + $35 NLHE main event on Sunday, August 17th. The championship tournament will last for two days, will be hosted by Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, and boasts of a $2.5 million guaranteed prize pool. And if the attendance is anything like the first three events, the main event could shatter all Full Tilt records.

Needless to say, now is the time to get an account going on Full Tilt Poker and hone those skills for the main event. There are qualifiers running throughout each day for all of the FTOPS events, so there are ample opportunities to be a part of this record-breaking and acclaimed tournament series. But you can’t get your piece of this action until you sign up for an account!

The process is simple, really. Download Full Tilt Poker now and make an initial deposit into the new account. Use the code “POKERWORKS” when doing so to receive the 100% bonus on any dollar amount deposited up to $600. With that, you’ll not only be earning a bonus on your money through your play, but you’ll have the chance to win so much more and be a part of online poker history in the FTOPS IX.
