There are a number of players who have proven they have the poker skills and experience to be sponsored by Everest Poker. Wooka Kim is one of them, a 27-year poker player from Japan, has done just that and is now on her way to various stops on the Asian Poker Tour and the Asia Pacific Poker Tour to represent Everest Poker in those major and prestigious tournaments.

Kim originally graduated from college with a degree in Economics but after finding that she had a knack for the game about two years ago, she now concentrates much her time on hold’em and Omaha cash games and tournaments, while she’s not running two restaurants in Osaka, Japan, that she owns and manages. In pursuit of her goal to be a world champion player, she competed in the Everest Poker 2008 Live the Dream competition and won a spot on the elite team of players who are now sponsored in major poker tournaments through March of 2009.

So far, Kim has played in the EPT Grand Finale in Monaco and the 2008 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the latter of which brought the great accomplishment of finishing in the money out of 6,844 players for a $25,090 cash. Though she has other successes on her resume, such as a win in the ladies tournament at the 2007 All Japan Poker Championship, she heads to Macau with more confidence than ever.

Kim will be representing Everest Poker at the APT Macau from August 27-31, then the APPT Macau from September 1-9. Prize pools from both main events are expected to exceed $1 million.
