The Round Table – Liv Boeree – Q & A's with Your Favorite Pros

Absolute Poker’s UK Pro Liv Boeree is a rock n’ roll poker goddess. Only playing professionally for a year Liv already has two WSOP cashes and a win at the $2000 Ladbrokes Poker European Ladies Championship for $42,000.

Name: Olivia "Liv" Boeree

Nickname: Liv

Date of birth: 07/18/84

Birth Place: Maidstone, Uk

Currently residing: London, UK

Favorite song to listen to before tournament that gets you pumped up:
Downfall by Children of Bodom

Craziest prop bet: Playing three rounds of rock paper scissors on camera for PokerNews... and the loser got tazered!

Favorite places to travel: The Inca Trail in Peru, Death Valley in Nevada, and Bali in Indonesia.

What do you like to do in your spare time: My hobbies include: Guitaring, clubbing, running, storm-watching, skiing, head-banging, designing animal print spandex trousers (don't ask), my pet lizard and roller coasters.

Any celebrity crushes: Hehe... I have a weakness for guys with long hair, so a number of rock stars and Sawyer from Lost!

If you weren't playing poker what career would you have: I'd most likely have carried on to do a Masters in Physics or similar, so would probably be sat somewhere in a dingy laboratory right now.

What is something no one knows about you: I will wipe the floor with you at table foosball.

Favorite movie: I genuinely can't pick one above all others, but I love action series like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.

Describe yourself in three words: Competitive, nerdy and disorganized.

What are you most proud of in your life: In poker, it was winning the European Ladies Championships this year, and outside of poker, it was probably getting the top grade in my Physics degree.

What is your favorite smell: Gasoline! (or petrol to us Brits)

Favorite taste: Jack Daniels (shh)

Favorite sound: Thunder

Biggest impulse purchase:
Nothing huge, but I have a terrible weakness for boots. The more buckles and metal on them the better.

What is a day in your life like outside of playing poker: I wake up any time between 9am and Midday (depending on the night before) and check emails and feed the pet lizard. I'll then either watch 24 which I'm currently addicted to, play some guitar, play PS2 or laziness permitting go to the park for a run. Then I'll meet up with friends and go and do something much more exciting like a few beers in my local pub.

How many tournaments do you play a year: This is my first year as a full-on pro, and so far I've played about 12 major tourneys (10 at the WSOP.) The year before that I only played one big one!

What is the most over used phrase in poker: "So I was on a draw..."

How do you celebrate when you make a big score, either tournaments, cash, online or live: Run around a lot, make too much noise and then go to the pub!

What are you up to now: Right now? Playing guitar and fiddling with facebook. We're moving house soon, so anything to put off packing.

Biggest poker goal:
Win another (and bigger!) major tournament this year, preferably a WPT!

WSOP Cashes: 2

*Like a wheel, the Round Table is a circle of adventures and victories, beats and stories, and life as it unfolds with a cast of characters that may, or may not, have joined you in your home on a local TV program. There's so much more to poker than what you see on TV. Although I won't use canvas, I will paint the full picture for you as I follow the lives of some of your favorite (and some unknown) players. The Round Table is an ongoing series of life, viewed full circle.*
