The premier poker boot camp in the country is ready to hit Los Angeles, and the instructors are ready to take your game to another level. With its first ever Los Angeles course, the WSOP Academy has a line-up of seasoned pros like Annie Duke, Kenny Tran, Joe Navarro, and Alex Outhred prepared to teach their secrets to students at the Bicycle Casino this weekend.

The Bike knows a thing or two about poker, with the constant offering of cash games and world renowned tournament series like the Legends of Poker, and it is ready to host the World Series of Poker Academy’s first weekend seminar in L.A. on September 6th and 7th. Seats are limited in order to provide a comfortable and personal setting wherein students can interact with and learn from the pros. Annie Duke, Alex Outhred, and Joe Navarro have taught numerous WSOP Academy courses, which has given them the chance to hone their lessons to focus on topics most important to the students. And Kenny Tran, fresh off his first WSOP bracelet win this summer, is anxious to share his experiences and the skills that have made him a cash game pro and tournament champion.

Navarro commented, “I look forward to working with WSOP Academy students in Los Angeles to help them see inside their opponents and change the way they view the game. I plan on spending time working with players individually and spotting tells that they are giving off at the table. I truly believe that this type of personalized attention can save a player a lot of money in the long run.”

The two-day course will include in-depth seminars, live hand demonstrations in which the instructors critique the action as it happens, interactive workshops, and customized handbooks for lesson reinforcements and note-taking. The game of no-limit hold’em will be the focus, with solid strategy advice, including the importance of position, the use of aggression, an in-depth look at tells, and the proper time for changing gears during play. And a private tournament will be held in which participants compete for a seat to an upcoming WSOP Circuit event worth $5,000 among other prizes.

Brandon Rosen of Post Oak Productions, the WSOP Academy production company, added, “The WSOP Academy is coming off another amazing summer at the World Series of Poker that saw one of our Academy grads again at a final table just days after attending our camp. And we’re now excited to offer our first academy experience in Los Angeles and welcome 2008 WSOP bracelet winner Kenny Tran, one of LA’s most noted poker professionals, to our family of instructors.

There aren’t many opportunities in this ever-growing poker community for players to gain valuable skills from the most seasoned and well-known pros in the game, not to mention to do so in an intimate setting with the ability to ask questions and address specific issues of importance to each student. The WSOP Academy is a unique experience that has proven to be a profitable step for so many players.

The chance for players in Los Angeles to take advantage of this opportunity is rapidly approaching. With only days before the weekend course and space limited to 100 participants, visit www.WSOPAcademy.com or call 1-800-989-WSOP now to reserve your spot for only $1,499.
