The 2008 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour is the modern day Battle of Britain. The tour is a series of £1,000 No Limit Texas Hold'em tournaments followed by a £3,000 grand final at year’s end. Events have already been taking place and the excitement continues to build. After the first week of warm-up tournaments, each main event has taken place over four days with up to 400 players.

The $4,000 prize package includes; £1,000 + £60 buy-in the Blackpool Main Event (Approx. $2,100) and up to $1,900 for flights, accommodation, and spending (depending on currency exchange rates). Players will be automatically registered in the event. First prizes are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be converted to cash. Therefore, a player must play in the tournament or forfeit the seat.

Weekly Super Satellite Freezeout tournaments take place on CD Poker on Tuesdays at 19:00 with a buy-in of $100 + $9. The minimum number of players for each tournament is 35 and the Last Super Satellite will be held on October 30th.

The Blackpool event will take place from November 13th to November 16th, at the Grosvenor Blackpool Casino located at The Sandcastle, South Promenade, and Blackpool, FY4 1BB.

The Grand Finals will take place in London from November 20th through the 30th and will include several tournament events in addition to the main event.  Last but not least, on the 4th and 5th of December, the Champion of Champions tournament will be played! This tournament is an exclusive £75,000 No-limit Hold'em event that will take place in the G-Casino in Luton. Seats in this “free to enter” tournament will be open to the winners of GUKPT events, including main events, side events and even online events. Each player will have a various number of starting chips, dependent upon the size of the event won, with the most chips being awarded to the winner of the Grand Final.

Winners of the GUPT events are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements. The options available for accommodations are the Big Blue Hotel, Ocean Boulevard, Blackpool, Lancashire FY4 1ND or the Premier Travel Inn, Yeadon Way, South Shore, Blackpool, Lancashire FY1 6BF.
