Ultimate Bet Poker Signs Online Pro Matt Graham

The Ultimate Bet team has a new rising star to add to their galaxy of poker pros; Matt Graham, a 25 year old who cut his teeth on internet poker. Although the name may not be as well known as Hellmuth, Ferguson, Ivey or Brunson, don’t be fooled, this up and comer is making waves in the poker world. That is no doubt why Ultimate Bet Poker wanted him to join their stable of pros, a deal which was recently sealed.

Matt has a solid reputation as a respected online poker player but he has also proved himself well in some of the world’s biggest land-based tournaments. A former pre-med student, Graham studied pre-med for three years in Connecticut before turning his sights to poker. Originally from New Orleans, LA, Graham has lived in a variety of places including Houston, Canada, and Norway. After discovering the wonderful world of poker, he moved to Las Vegas and plans to make it his long term home.

Long considered a force to be reckoned with at the online poker tables, Graham has proven he can stand up with the best at live events as well. In 2008, he won his first WSOP bracelet when he snagged the Limit Hold’em Shootout event and took home $278,180. Other notable cashes under his belt include; the 2008 Five Diamond World Poker Classic, the 2008 World Poker Challenge, the 2008 WSOP Event 4 Mixed Hold'em, the 2008 WSOP Event 1 World Championship Pot-Limit Hold'em, the 2008 Special Wynn Classic, the WPT Season 6 World Poker Finals, the WPT Season 6 Mandalay Bay Poker Championship, the 2006 WSOPC Harrah's Rincon, the WPT Season 5 World Poker Open and the 2006 WSOP Event 39 No-Limit Texas Hold'em Championship. Add up all the cash he has taken home in these events and from his online wins, and he is easily the new Million Dollar Man.

Of all his live events, Graham considers the Aussie Millions his favorite. Not for the money he took home, but for the fun he had, and it is easy to see why. Since his dad lives only 5 minutes from the casino, Matt stayed in the land down under for almost a whole month. When he wasn’t battling on the green felt, he played hard by surfing, hiking, and white water rafting.

It is easy to see why Ultimate Bet Poker wanted to corral this poker phenomenon for their team. Graham is a self starter, learning the ropes by playing poker in college in small dorm games and on online at Ultimate Bet. Starting out with a $50 deposit and grinding slowly to build a bankroll, a year later he was so successful he left his pre-med studies to devote himself full time to poker.  Regarding his recent signing with Ultimate Bet Poker, Graham says, “I look forward to the opportunity to represent Ultimate Bet both online and in the live arena. I never would have thought I would be a site pro when I began my online poker career at Ultimate Bet four years ago, but now here I am.” He added, “I am very excited to be a part of the future of this site.”

Annie Duke, Ultimate Bet’s Cardroom Consultant stated, “I am so thrilled to have Matt Graham on the team, Matt epitomizes the all-around poker player. He has great results in all the games, live or online. Matt is an amazing addition to the Ultimatebet.com team.”
