Poker Players Alliance Giving Away FREE WSOP Main Event Seat

This time of year in America, the flags are out in full force commemorating Memorial Day then on to the Fourth of July and Labor Day. Summer starts the season, not only of vacations, soaking up the sun and family vacations, but of patriot pride in the USA. Everywhere you look, old glory flaps in the breeze, reminding us of what it means to live here and more importantly to cherish the memory of those who fought for our rights and died for our freedom.

One of these freedoms is the freedom of choice, but sadly for poker players, this freedom has been taken away from us.

As poker players, we have an organization that fights daily for our rights – mainly our right to play poker on the internet or wherever we choose, but that fight isn’t only about poker, it’s about freedom.  With more than a million members, the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) rallies to our defense on every public and political platform available with one goal in mind – to give poker players back their freedom.

The PPA is a grassroots advocacy group whose membership roll reads not only of the famous names in the poker world, but from all the average Joe poker players in all 50 states; all with their eye on a common goal – to repeal the UIGEA. Although their efforts have been commendable by scoring several legal and legislative victories, the PPA needs more. They need more members, more help and more money to let their voices be heard and recognized in Washington D.C., if change is ever to be realized and our freedom given back to us.

To help promote their cause on behalf of every poker player in the USA, and recruit new members, the PPA is giving away a seat to the biggest event of the season - the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Becoming a member of the PPA is free and you can sign-up at www.pokerplayersalliance.org, but for just $20 you can become a Premium Member. By joining the PPA as a Premium Member, not only will you be contributing to their efforts to promote the game of poker, but you will be helping to fight and defend your right to play poker online. And if that wasn’t reason enough to join, when you sign-up for Premium membership, you could also be signing in - to take your seat at the WSOP!

To encourage poker players to become Premium Members, the PPA will be giving away a free WSOP seat to the Main Event worth $10,000. The winner of the WSOP seat will be determined with a random drawing to be held at 12:00 p.m. EST on June 15, 2009. The only requirements to enter are that you become a PPA Premium Member and you are at least 21 years old. Also, travel, accommodations and other related expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner and not included.

Premium PPA membership is easily affordable for even the smallest of bankrolls. And by supporting this great organization you are speaking up for what you believe in - your right to play poker. All poker players should have the freedom to play where they want, when they want and how they want, but the only way this will happen is if the PPA is successful in their battle to give us back our freedom.

Join the fight today - for your right to play poker! Join the PPA as a Premium Member and we could see you in Las Vegas in July at the Main Event!
