Charity Report: Boys and Girls Club to Benefit from Lederers Tourney July 1Howard and Suzie Lederer rarely turn down an opportunity to participate in fundraisers for causes near and dear to their hearts. The duo, most known in the poker community for Howard’s long-standing status as a successful professional poker player, have clearly come to be recognized as two of the most generous people when it comes to charitable contributions, and they will be hosting another event this summer. The Suzie and Howard Lederer Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament on July 1 will benefit the Boys and Girls Club .

The festivities will be held at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas at 4pm in The Grand events center. But the charity poker tournament will be held in conjunction with the Lederer annual World Series of Barbeque, which consists of an amazing array of food, games, and entertainment and is in its seventh year. The barbeque will begin at 6pm, after much of the tournament has wrapped on July 1, at The Tank at the Golden Nugget, where the pool and shark aquarium provide the backdrop for an evening’s worth of socializing. And it will all be topped off at 10:10pm with the fireworks display for all guests.

The tournament will be held to benefit the Boys and Girls Club and will require a $330 buy-in for participants. There will be $200 unlimited rebuys available, as well as a $100 add-on. Some of the prizes for the top finishers include a seat into Poker After Dark, which is worth $20,000 and will be donated by Full Tilt Poker for the winner of the tournament.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas, an organization dedicated to providing the tools necessary for children in the community to achieve success and look positively toward their futures. For more than 47 years, the Boys and Girls Club has been offering programs that help young people with character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports and fitness. The eight Club facilities provide a safe environment that helps children who lack adult care, supervision, or guidance.

Registration for the tournament is available through the Golden Nugget. Seats are limited, so pre-registration is recommended.
