While the biggest thing in poker may be taking place right now, the World Series of Poker isn’t the only popular tournament series on the schedule this year. For those who live in or just want to visit Asia, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) is the next big thing on their calendar. Poker has taken off like a rocket in Asia, especially at THE Asian gambling capitol – Macau.

Macau will once again be the host city when the APT rolls into town and the glamorous Galaxy Star World Hotel and Casino will be the hot spot for all of the APT action. August will be hotter than ever when this event kicks off on August 12th with satellite action, and will continue to sizzle right through August 23rd when the final table of the APT Macau is played out. There will be plenty of action throughout this 12 day event, which is double the amount of days the event ran last year. And even though the APT event ran only six days last year, the turnout was fantastic and saw Yevgeniy Timoshenko take home HKD$3,812,200 for his Main Event victory.

The year 2009 started off with a bang for the APT when it was held in the Philippines in January and local favorite Neil Arce won the top spot and USD$185,000. With every event, the prize pools keep getting bigger and the action hotter, which guarantees the APT Macau will be an event you won’t want to miss. And to make sure you don’t miss it, satellite qualifiers are going on now where you could win your APT Prize Package starting from just a few dollars!

Party Poker is running daily qualifiers now to get you on your way to Macau with prize packages valued at $7,000. These great tournament packages include your Main event buy-in worth $4,300, seven nights’ accommodation at the Rio Hotel and Casino starting on August 17th and $1,600 for flights and spending money.  And you can win all this cheap! The Party Poker satellite qualifiers start out at just $3 and run daily, making sure everyone can afford to get in on the APT satellite action.

Stay tuned to PokerWorks for more announcements of Macau APT qualifiers that will be starting soon at Titan Poker, bwin Poker, the Ongame Network and many others. The choices are endless where you can play to win your Asian Adventure seat and the trip of a lifetime to the exotic Orient!
