One way to cash at the 2009 World Series of Poker is obvious: Win a seat into the main event and run your “A” game all the way past the money bubble and into poker history. The $1 Million Match promotion guarantees that even if you get a bad beat in the WSOP main event and sent to the rail, you can still find yourself in the money thanks to Everest Poker.

The $1 Million Match is something new to Everest Poker and its WSOP qualifiers, but the organizers of the promotion wanted to ensure that everyone who wins a fabulous main event prize package and trip to Las Vegas also returned home with some prize money for their efforts. The way it works is that all Everest Poker players’ cashes will be tallied together and matched by the site to be redistributed among its players.

For example, if all of the Everest Poker players cash for a combined $900,000, Everest Poker will put up that exact amount of money - not to exceed $1 million - and divide it evenly among the number of players who won their main event seats on Everest. As of May 27, there were already 29 players who secured their seats and will be participating in the $1 Million Match program beginning with the start of the WSOP main event on July 3. The list of players thus far includes two Austrians, one Canadian, five Germans, two Spanish, ten French, one Dane, one Swede, six from the Netherlands, and one from Switzerland. But the list continues to grow as players continue to qualify for the amazing WSOP prize packages.
