The 2009 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is set kick off on September 3rd with guaranteed prize pools totaling a massive $40,000,000. Slated to be the biggest tournament event in the history of online poker, PokerStars wants to make sure every player has the chance to be a part of it. To accomplish this goal, PokerStars has announced the WCOOP Extreme Satellites promotion - with more than $1,000,000 in WCOOP seats added!

Taking advantage of the WCOOP Extreme Satellites events will be your very best chance at winning your PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker seats. With hundreds of WCOOP seats worth more than $1,000,000 waiting to be won, the availability of these extra seats means you have your best chance ever to be a part of the biggest online poker series the online poker world has ever seen. And with buy-ins starting at only $7.50, there is no reason any poker player can’t jump in these Extreme Satellites and win their WCOOP seat!

In the 2008 WCOOP series, 33 events were held with 22,873 players from different 119 countries taking their seats. But when the smoke cleared at the Main Event, it was Carter ‘ckingusc’ King who lived up to his name and was crowned King of the WCOOP, by walking away $1,265,432.23 richer. And proving you don’t have to finish first to win big, PokerStars pro Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier added five top 20 finishes to his poker resume, which included a second place finish worth $320,000 in the No Limit Hold’em Heads-Up High Roller event. But Grospellier wasn’t the only PokerStars Team pro who proved himself, 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker pocketed a wad of cash too, when he made two final tables.

Boasting the richest guaranteed prize pool to be found in the realm of online poker tournaments, the WCOOP draws in thousands of players from across the globe. Now celebrating its eighth year, the WCOOP will feature 45 events to be played out over an 18 day span starting September 2nd, featuring a massive $40,000,000 guaranteed combined prize pool.  Then on September 20th at 16:30 it will be time for the big finish, the $5,200 buy-in Main Event, with a whopping $10,000,000 guaranteed prize pool at stake. You can bet all of the top online players will be there to join the Team PokerStars Pro members and PokerStars wants you to join them, by winning a seat in one of the many WCOOP Extreme Satellites!

The WCOOP Extreme Satellites will kick off August 4th, running two to three times a day up until August 16th.  With buy-ins starting at just $$7.50 anyone can afford to use the Steps tickets and the Steps system to win their WCOOP seat. To find the right WCOOP Extreme Satellite for your bankroll, go to the PokerStars lobby and select the ‘Tourney’ and ‘All’ tabs.
