Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker Welcomes MAC Users

Poker players who use MAC’s have long been left out in the cold when it comes to having the same accessibility enjoyed by PC users. But now there is good news for MAC users with the announcement that Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker have introduced new MAC compatible software for OS X operating systems.

Those players preferring to reside in the MAC world have been long suffering online, seeing themselves shut out from playing at many online poker sites. And while there were a few poker sites that offered software for MAC’s, many of them banned players in the US after the UIGEA took hold. But finally after 10 years, two of the most popular poker sites for US players, Absolute and Ultimate Bet Poker have announced the debut of their new MAC compatible software, which they hope will go far in securing their online poker future – since they are now accessible to all poker players.

Joining the ranks of poker rooms who understand that not everyone uses PC’s, Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Poker have now opened the door to all players, no matter what operating system they use. For years the key ingredient keeping Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker from competing for the top spot with other US friendly sites like PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker has been their failure to launch a fully functional MAC compatible software client. In the past, only browser compatibility was available, but with the introduction of the new software, now MAC users can enjoy full downloads with great functionality. By offering MAC users almost all of the same features as their PC software has, Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Poker have seen player traffic increase by 45% since rolling out the MAC client. This not only puts Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker on a level playing field with competing poker sites, but it is sure to benefit players as well since increased traffic can trigger bigger and better player promotions on the horizon.

As with any new system, there are a few bugs to be worked out, like the fact that the new MAC software only supports multi-table play of a maximum of three games at once. Other features not yet available but hopefully will be in the near future include; hot keys, instant hand replay, favorite seat option and table views.

The new software system requirements for MAC players are:
•    MAC OS X 1.4 or higher
•    Java Runtime Environment for MACS ( 2.2.6)
•    128 MB of ram
•    800×600 screen resolution

By rolling out the new MAC software, Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Poker are taking a stand and proving that they are forces to be reckoned with in the online poker world. Along with Ultimate Bet Poker sponsoring world famous poker pros like Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari and new additions Brandon Cantu, Liv Boeree, Billy Kopp, and Bryan Devonshire, the introduction of the new MAC software gives them yet another drawing card to lure more new members. And by the statistics released for the surge in player traffic recently, it all seems to be working out just as they hoped it would.
