The end of Day Two in the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event Championship finds 92 players still fighting for the gold bracelet and a championship title.  Poker great Doyle Brunson is currently in sixth place in chips – this could be a true historical event.

Ian Munns of London, UK is the chip leader after the second day and it’s possible that 2009 could be the year of the repeat with former WSOPE Champions John Juanda and Annette Obrestad still in the main event.  November Niner James Ankenhead is in the top 20 and UK Footballer Teddy Sheringham is still in the tournament.

Phil Hellmuth made a grand entrance when he arrived to play the featured table but he didn’t make through day two.  Is it possible that his exit was as grand as his entrance?

Notable players who survived day two included – James Ankenhead, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Jacon Mercier, Liz Lieu, Brandon Adams, Steve Zolotow, Ram Vaswani, John Tabatabai, Amnon Filippi, "Devil Fish" Ulliott, Brandon Cantu, Antonio Esfandiari, "Cowboy" Kenna James, John Kabbaj, Joe Beevers, Chris Bjorin, Jani Vilmunen, David Oppenheim, Annette Obrestad, Freddy Deeb, Todd Brunson, Barry Shulman, John Juanda, Farzad Bonyadi, Men "the Master" Nguyen, Philip Tom, Tony Cousineau, Teddy Sheringham, Dennis Phillips, and others.
