For those who’ve never heard of the Bodog Poker Open, it is Bodog Poker’s flagship event and it pays out hundreds of thousands of dollars over a series of tournaments.  As with any great event, the Bodog Poker Open has grown in size and popularity during its course too.  The BPO has gotten to the point where it is offering players over $750,000 over the course of the event.  But even with all of the prize money that is available for the BPO, Bodog is looking to take the next step and make the champion of this year’s event a poker superstar!

This will all take place during the Bodog Poker Open IV which is set to run from November 1st through November 8th.  What’s cool about the BPO IV is that it will feature both a low stakes “Contender Series” and a higher stakes “Championship Series.”  The Championship Series will be comprised of 7 higher buy-in poker tournaments where players will pay anywhere from $50 + $5 to $470 + $30 (Championship) to play.  What’s really great about the Championship Series is that an extra $60,000 will be added by Bodog throughout the 7 tournaments to make the event really special.

For those with smaller bankrolls, the Contender Series offers an excellent range of 8 tourneys to play in where the buy-ins are from $5 + $0.50 to the Contender Series Finale which has a $46 + $4 buy-in.  And just because the buy-ins are lower for the Contender Series doesn’t mean there won’t be lots of cash to be claimed here too.  In fact, you can play in either (or both) the Contender and Championship Series on your road to becoming the next superstar of poker.

So by now you might be wondering what this poker superstar thing is all about.  Well, whoever wins the overall title for the Bodog Poker Open IV (as deemed by their points system) will receive extensive media attention.  To be more specific, the winner will get a feature spread in Card Player Magazine, big-time coverage in Bodog Poker articles, feature status in the Bodog Beat section, the Bodog Poker Champion title, and all of the cash that comes with dominating in the Bodog Poker Open.
