Full Tilt Fever: FTOPS XIV Challenges & Bouncebackability

As November hits the calendar and some people are beginning to think about the holidays, the online poker community is focused on the most exciting way to wrap up the year…with the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). The 14th installments of the ever-popular tournament series begins on November 4 and runs through November 15 with more than $16 million in guaranteed prize money, 25 poker tournaments, and tens of thousands of players who will log on to compete for the coveted FTOPS titles.

But there is so much more to an FTOPS series than just the tournaments. There are numerous challenges in which to participate to get the most out of the FTOPS experience.

The most popular of them is the Satellite Challenge, which appeals to all who look to satellite into the FTOPS events for a fraction of the buy-in. With satellites running around the clock, there is a way to win in addition to winning tournament seats. The first win for a particular satellite obviously garners a seat in that event, but each additional satellite win is awarded with tournament dollars equal to the tournament entry. And win the most satellites entries into any one event and receive tournament dollars equal to two additional buy-ins.

Then there is the series of other challenges, and registration is done by simply going to the promotions section of the cashier page and clicking on the FTOPS challenges link. The Hold’em Challenge offers prizes for achieving several tasks, such as winning a pot worth at least 20 big blinds with pocket aces or kings and stealing the same player’s big blind three times. The Survivor Challenge offers entry into a freeroll for being the player with the most times making it to Level 10 in FTOPS events. The Double Up Challenge looks for players who are able to double their starting stacks in as many events as possible. The Zero to Hero Challenge awards players with an extra $5K for turning a super satellite into an FTOPS victory - or even $50 for going from satellite entry to in-the-money status. And finally, the Million Dollar Challenge seeks any player who can make the money in at least 17 of the 25 events, as $1 million will be awarded to that individual.

In addition to the many challenges, there is the Bouncebackability Freeroll, the chance to win after bubbling an event. Every player who bubbles an FTOPS event will win an automatic entry to the exclusive freeroll tournament on November 21, where players can win an FTOPS XV main event seat worth more than $500.

With so many ways to win, why not carve out a chunk of time to play the FTOPS events? It’s easy to get started, as the first step is to download Full Tilt Poker. The second step is to use the bonus code “PKRWORKS” to grab a 100% bonus on your initial deposit and qualify to play in weekly $500 freerolls. The last step? Take a look at the following schedule and see which events you’d like to win. Buy in directly or take a look at the round-the-clock satellite schedule to begin the path to FTOPS fame.
