Sunday, November 8th, found Doyle Brunson welcoming members of the press, family—Todd Brunson and Pam Brunson, and friends to a book signing for the release of his new autobiography, The Godfather of Poker. Not only did Doyle take the time to graciously give interviews and answer questions of anyone that attended, he also gave away autographed copies of his book. The opportunity to spend time with one of poker’s greatest legends was held at Blush Nightclub in Wynn, Las Vegas, with an open bar. Doyle’s book will be released nationally on November 10th at Barnes & Noble and other notable retailers. Hoyt Corkins was also in attendance as was the team Doyle has collected, to date, that represent the Brunson 10 at Doylesroom.com; they are Chris Moorman, Amit Makhija, Alec Torelli, Zachary Clark, and Dani “Ansky” Stern was introduced as the newly signed fifth team member. Doyle said Doylesroom.com would not have 200 pros; that he will continue to hand pick his team of elite, young poker players and with their help, the online poker world and old-school poker gap will lessen.
Most people will recognize Dani “Ansky” Stern from the ‘2 Months, 2 Million’ G4 television series and also from the 2009 WSOP where he finished in 4th place in the $40K No Limit Holdem Event winning almost $550,000. Stern has claimed close to $1,000,000 in tournament winnings and is also a very accomplished cash game player. At just 22 years old Stern is just beginning his poker career.
