The team doesn’t take the addition of a new member lightly, and the induction into the group doesn’t come easily. Full Tilt Poker has an immense roster of sponsored pro poker players, but Team Full Tilt consists of the most elite members of the site. And online phenom Tom Dwan is now one of them.

Team Full Tilt boasts of some of the biggest names in online poker: Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Jennifer Harman, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Andy Bloch, Phil Gordon, John Juanda, Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen, and Allen Cunningham. On June 1, 2008, the team welcomed a thirteenth member by the name of Patrik Antonius, which didn’t come as much of a surprise considering his stellar reputation as a skilled player online and in high stakes cash games. And no one else in the poker world seemed to fit the bill as a possible addition…until Tom Dwan.

He possesses the qualities of the rest of the members of the team, as he plays in the highest stakes cash games and the biggest tournaments, and he has had numerous successes in both. The New Jersey native left college because of his accomplishments in poker that were dominating his time but providing excitement and money that his educational pursuits couldn’t match. Once his bankroll hit astronomical proportions, due to his online play as “durrrr,” he was invited to play on such television shows as Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker, where he earned the respect of other high limit pros.

Most recently, Dwan issued a challenge to the online poker community where he put up $1.5 million to anyone who could put up $500K of their own and compete in a series of online tournaments. Antonius was the first one to accept, though Ivey expressed interest, and the challenge has been played out for many months - and still continues - on Full Tilt Poker. Rumors then began to circulate that Dwan was being considered for the Full Tilt team, but nothing came of it until agreement was found on terms. That happened on November 8, 2009, and it was officially announced that Dwan joined the team.

Dwan will not only represent Full Tilt online and in live tournaments and cash games, but he will be writing a blog on Full Tilt and contributing to lessons given to players on Full Tilt Poker Academy.

Howard Lederer remarked, “Team Full Tilt doesn’t take adding a team member lightly. But, Tom Dwan has proven, through skill and dynamic play that he will be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come. We are proud to count Tom as one of our own.”

Anyone can play online poker or watch Dwan on the site. Download Full Tilt Poker now to check out all the action, and use the bonus code “PKRWORKS” to also qualify for a 100% bonus on the initial deposit and $500 weekly freerolls.
