Bodog Poker Open IV Big Success: Superstar Crowned!

Every Bodog Poker Open is a big event since there are always hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake in the different tournaments that are held.  But there was even more excitement in the air for the Bodog Poker Open IV since Bodog vowed to turn the winner into the next poker superstar!  And what does being a poker superstar entail?  In this case it meant getting a feature spread in Card Player Magazine, extensive coverage in the Bodog Beat and articles section, the title of Bodog Poker Champion, and all of the cash that comes along with being a winner.

So who was lucky enough to come out on top in the BPO IV and become the next poker superstar?  Out of the 257 players that took part in the Championship Event, it was “MrElPaso” who grabbed glory by becoming the next poker superstar.  With the win, MrElPaso earned the $36,447 first place prize along with the multi-page spread in Card Player Magazine and extensive coverage on the Bodog website.

The road to becoming the next poker superstar wasn’t easy for MrElPaso due to the amount of skilled online pros that entered the Championship Event.  Some of the people MrElPaso had to beat out included Bodog Poker Pros David Williams and Evelyn Ng as well as famous online pros like "nevertilt22," "UFpokerStar" and "ari."  Even though ari wasn’t able to win the event, he still pocketed $16,182 after finishing in 3rd place while “dvbronco” took 2nd place and earned $24,419.  After everything was said and done, the Championship Event paid out $147,000 in prize money plus an additional $25,000 added by Bodog.

Here is a look at the top 9 finishers in the Bodog Poker Open IV Championship:

  1. MrElPaso
  2. dvbronco
  3. Ari
  4. JazzyFace
  5. bklynzto81
  6. naskoxx
  7. ello
  8. ShuMoneyTonite

The BPO IV was much more than just a Championship Event though since 2,646 players took part in the tournaments where $368,000 in cash prizes were given away.  The festivities kicked off on November 1st with the Contender Series and Championship Series both starting on this date.  As the name implied, the Championship Series was full of higher buy-in tournaments for players looking to earn the BPO superstar status.

The Contender Series featured lower buy-in poker tournaments, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t plenty of cash to be won in these events.  And the great thing is that Bodog Poker added extra money to these tournaments as well.  With the close of the BPO IV, this marks yet another highly successful event for Bodog.

However, the big events won’t stop here though since Bodog runs their $100,000 Guaranteed tournament every Sunday.  This is one of the best poker tournament values in the industry since Bodog often adds their own cash in order to fill out the prize pool.  Sometimes this amount is as high as $35,000 or more!  If you’d like to get in on one of the best tournament values in online poker, or get ready for the next Bodog Poker Open, then sign up for Bodog using the POKERWORKS bonus code.  This will ensure that you get the 110% deposit bonus up to $500!
