The Poker View – A Few Poker Must Reads!Tweet for Poker!  The Poker Players Alliance launched ‘tweeting’ for online poker supporters to sign in and appeal to their representative in congress for 30 seconds.

PPA Executive Director John Pappas said, "Poker players are online, they're active, and they're weighing in on the policy battles that impact their right to play." Pappas continued, "Tweet for Poker is PPA's most instant and dynamic tool for our members to directly contact legislators in a way that engages the public in debate. We're proud of the instant success, and look forward to hearing what our elected officials think of the legislation and this new advocacy program."

Tweeting for Poker will give players the option to support either Sen. Robert Menendez' pro-online poker bill in the Senate or Rep. Barney Frank's poker bill in the House.

The Full Tilt Poker Million Dollar Challenge in London brought Full Tilt sponsored pro Tom “durrr” Dwan and Sammy “Any Two” George together for the culmination of a challenge Dwan sent out earlier in the year.  Dwan and George played a 7-2 bonus which awarded a $10,000 reward to either one that scooped a pot with that hand. Dwan did exactly that when he pushed $400,000 on a board with three hearts that held J-A-6-3-3 and he had 7-2.  George tanked for somewhere around five minutes and then released A-6; Dwan flipped over his bluffing hand and not only claimed the pot, but the additional $10K bonus.

Both players had to continue to play until one was broke or 500 hands were completed.  And Dwan took the win at the end of the hands with around $700K up.

Matt Vengrin will be a celebrity judge in the Miss California Teen USA pageant being held this weekend.  Matt is accustomed to beauties in poker competition like poker professional Lacey Jones, an Absolute Poker Pro, (the same online poker site that Matt calls home), and Trishelle, the latest Absolute Poker celebrity endorser Reality TV bombshell.

“As a poker player, I know how fierce competition can be,” said Vengrin. “Just like playing in the World Series of Poker, these girls are in for a grueling but fun weekend and I’m excited to be an integral part of the experience.”

Matt is 24 and has won nearly $2,000,000 playing poker at Absolute Poker and at land based casinos and other online poker sites, and since he’s a professional people reader, look for him to make the best choice for the Teen Pageant.

Ultimate Bet Poker officially became UB.  Most of the poker playing world referred to Ultimate Bet as UB.  Ultimate Bet rebranded the online poker room with much more than a new logo and abbreviated name—look for a new multi-layered makeover. With a redesigned lobby, new game filters, over 30 new guaranteed tournaments, improved tournament blind structures, synchronized breaks, $1,000,000+ in guarantees every month UB is the online poker player’s dream.   An excited Phil Hellmuth says, "In the ten years since I have been involved with the UB brand, I have never been prouder to represent the company as much as I am right now. We have great people captaining the ship, we have a great vibe and some serious swagger. I look forward to the day when we are the largest poker site on the planet."

Everyone has their favorite online poker sites—sometimes it’s because the fish buffet never ends; sometimes it’s because of particular reload bonuses and frequent player points; sometimes it’s because the poker lobby is easy to navigate and the poker table just has a nice smooth feel to the way the game plays; sometimes it’s because your friends are there and you want to chat—and because you invited them and have to encourage them to play so you get your ‘refer-a-friend’ bonus.  After all, what are friends for if you can’t use them?
